Accreditation and the University Quality Management System
Accreditation
The accreditation was introduced as an obligatory instrument of quality assurance in parallel with the introduction of the bachelor and master system. All the study programs have to undergo an accreditation process, either in the frame of program or system accreditation. This includes an external peer review based process.
The study programs Biology Bachelor, Master Biosciences, Biology Bachelor Minor, the BioEU Master Life Sciences programs, the Master FOKUS Life Sciences all have been accredited by the agency AQAS in 2013. The Biology bachelor study program is based on the subject specific reference “Subject Specific Criteria Biology”, recommended to the faculties in 2013 by the German Conference of Biological Faculties (KBF).
